Dear All Rising 7th-12th Grade Families,

Here is some important information for those interested in participating in a school sport during the 2024-2025 School Year.

The official sports start dates include the following; Fall sports: Golf and HS Football August 5th, 2024, MS Football and all other fall sports start August, 12th, 2024. Winter Sports: November 15th, 2024, and Spring Sports: March 3th, 2025. Sport offerings by season can be found at www.penargylathletics.org, as well as schedules and calendar of events.

Pen Argyl’s Athletic Department will continue to host our Pre-Participation Athletic Forms and Registration online at Big Teams Student Central Student Central. This digital platform allows you to access and complete athletic forms online. It is HIPPA, COPPA, and FERPA compliant. All information is due before students can participate in official in season team activities. 

If you have used Student Central/PlanetHS in the past, please do not create another account, simply log in with the credentials that you already have established, update your account information and complete the new school year’s athletic forms. They are available after May 1st. If you have any issues logging in, please email Mr. Roberts at Roberts.nate@penargylsd.org, again, do not create any new accounts. 6th grade and new student accounts may not be in the system until mid June. If you have any questions, please ask.

NEW ATHLETE & PARENT REGISTRATION Your athlete will already have an account in student central. They need to simply login at Student Central using their school email and “bigteams” as the generic password (they will then be asked to change the password. Please use something they will remember) to activate their account. Parents will need to click “sign up” to register, and follow the prompts. Then, link the student account to the parent account or vice versa, and complete all of the required athletic forms. The parent account has specific forms to fill out, as well as the student account. So you will need to complete them by logging in to each. Please digitally sign your name in any space provided that says INT.

A few key points for Student Central:

1. Please complete this information as soon as possible, so that our coaches have accurate information on potential players.  This platform also allows coaches to message players and parents with team information.  So please allow emails and texts for instant information.

2. Parent & Student must both have separate accounts.  If a student has not logged into Student Central before, use school email and “bigteams” for a password.

3. Select the correct School (Pen Argyl HS or Wind Gap MS) & check all of the  sport(s) you want to register on for the entire year. This may have changed from last year. Please make sure it is accurate for this school year.

4. Make sure you have “filter view” selected to the correct school year.

5. Link Parent & Student accounts

6. Some fields are required (ie. Emergency #’s).  Simply add same number or text if pop up tells you it was required.

7. Take a GOOD, CLEAR picture of your PIAA section 6 with your cell phone to make uploading it to Student Central easier.

8. Students are not permitted to participate in any school district sport until ALL parent and student information is complete in Student Central. This does not include open gyms/open workouts/weight room activities.

You will need a physical (dated after May 1, 2024) before you will be allowed to participate in any sports in the Pen Argyl Area School District. This physical must be completed on the PIAA physical form. No other forms of physicals are accepted.

Below is some information on how you can obtain a free sports physical. This may be helpful if you have already used your 1 per calendar year physical that your insurance allows, or if your provider charges a co-pay for a physical. Physicals obtained on the dates provided are good for the entire school year. Even if your son/daughter only participates in a winter or spring sport. You can get your physical, and submit it early. Please take PIAA section 5 & 6 with you to Coca-Cola Park.

 

If you are using your family physician, please make sure that the physical is performed and dated after May 1st, 2024

You must print, and bring PIAA section 5 and 6 to your appointment. You can access these forms via your student central account by going to athletic forms, clicking PIAA section 5 and use the print/upload button just under the blue box. This will allow you to print both sections at the same time.

Information regarding mandatory Baseline ImPACT testing for 7th, 9th, and 11th grade students, as well as anyone new to playing a sport this season, will be distributed at a later date.
